Our Lady of Guadalupe also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with a venerated image enshrined within the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The basilica is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world.

A pilgrimage to Mexico is a great way to experience the incredibly rich culture of our neighboring country and strengthen your faith. On this memorable trip, you will celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and see the sackcloth of Juan Diego bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that hangs above the main altar. Other common sites include the Pyramids of Teotihuacan and Chapultepec Park to see collections of the ancient Mayan civilization.

ITINERARY

Today: Arrive according to your flight schedule. Enjoy sightseeing through the city as you transfer to the hotel.

Evening: Dinner and overnight in your hotel

Today: We start our day early to visit the Basilica of Guadalupe. Tour the entire site. We will attend mass there. After lunch we go tothe pyramids of Teotihuacan and visit the archeological site. Come back to our hotel for dinner.

Evening: Dinner in a typical restaurant and overnight in your hotel.

Today: We go to the Church of the Holy Family and have mass there. Visit the tomb of Blessed Miguel Agustin Pro, the Jesuit martyr. We continue to the Metropolitan Cathedral, from here we will take a look to the Zocalo square and the National Palace. Continue to the square of St Dominic where we will visit the convent and the church. After lunch, we will visit the Theater of the Fine Arts and have some time at the Alameda Central. If time and circumstances allowed, we will have some time for a free activity.

Today: We depart to Morelia which is the capital of the state of Michoacán. At our arrival, we will have a tour of this city builded in beautiful pink stone and colonial architecture. We will visit Morelia’s historic center, anchored by the glowing cathedral, this historic city is one of Mexico’s 34 UNESCO heritage places

Evening: Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Today: We will visit the magical town of Patzcuaro, here, we may have mass at the Church of the Tabernacle. We continue to visit the picturesque Island of Janitzio where we may have lunch. Continue to The nearby town of Uruapan, picturesque town of Michoacán with its beautiful National Parks. Return to Morelia.

Evening: Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Today: We travel to the cosmopolitan city of Guadalajara; this city represents what Mexico is. At our arrival, we will pay a visit to the Iconic Cathedral with its coned towers. We will have lunch and spend some time in the center area. Continue to our hotel for registration.

Today: We begin our tour visiting the Hospicio Cabanas, a World Heritage Site, is one of the oldest and largest hospital complexes in the Americas. The complex was founded in 1791 by the Bishop of Guadalajara in order to combine the functions of a workhouse, hospital, orphanage, also houses some of the most impressive murals painted the local artists Jose Clemente Orozco. We continue to “Temple Expiatory”, one majestic church builded in Neo- Gothic style. The church clock, imported from Germany has four lighted dials, and was brought along with a carillon of 25 bells playing 25 pieces both religious and popular music, such as: Ave Maria. Continue to Zapopan, where we visit the Basilica, house of one of the most venerated images of Mary, “Our Lady of Zapopan”, learn about the history and culture of this important part of this city.

Evening: Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Today: We visit the most important crafty area in the region, Tlaquepaque. Enjoy the color and unique styles in barro (clay) pottery, as well as embroidery in clothing. We will have lunch. We continue with a trip to the town of Tequila. If you travel to Jalisco this visit is almost mandatory. Here we will learn about the culture and preparation of this very popular and now classic beverage, throughout the world. You will able to taste samples of this elixir. Return to Guadalajara.

Evening: Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Today: We return to Mexico City (about 5 hrs). We will stop for lunch and bathroom breaks. At our arrival, we visit the area of Coyoacan, where we will visit the Church of Saint John the Baptists and enjoy a café with churros at the Barra de café Malinche

Evening: Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Today: Transfer to the airport to board our return flight home
